A Christmas pastry workshop at your own pace

Available in four-hour or full-day formats, the Ecole Ritz Escoffier Yule log cooking course can be adapted to suit your wishes and your schedule. This class, taught in French and interpreted into English, is designed for anyone who’s curious about taste, whether a novice or already familiar with pastry-making methods. In the prestigious Ritz Paris kitchens, you'll work under the same conditions as a professional pastry Chef. The small-group workshop format guarantees personalized learning under the guidance of the school's Chef. Each year, participants learn to create one of the school's two signature Yule logs for the festive season. Produced to the exacting standards appropriate to a grand establshment, these creations combine technical skill and refinement. In just a few hours, you'll become familiar with all the key stages involved in making this exceptional dessert, to be reproduced at home, and an elegant way to keep holiday traditions alive.

The Yule log, a festive icon

A classic Christmas pastry, logs are now being revisited in an infinite variety of ways. Each session invites you to reproduce one of two signature creations specially developed for the season: two original recipes, with flavors, textures and decorations renewed each year. From the preparation of fillings and working with textures to the assembly and finishing touches, you'll make this dessert the way a professional would. Under the attentive eye of one of the school's pastry Chefs, every step immerses you further in the rigor and creativity of French pastry-making. It's an experience as festive as it is convivial, enlivened by the scents of Christmas and the buzz of the hotel kitchens.

Once you’ve mastered the art of the Yule log, why not continue your culinary adventure with our holiday cooking class? Working with a Chef, you'll learn how to cook exceptional gourmet specialties like foie gras or lobster. You’ll leave with ready-made recipe ideas for a delicious and original Christmas menu.

Courses are non-cancellable and non-refundable, but can be postponed up to 8 days before the scheduled date.

  • The course is taught in French and interpreted into English.
  • Some of the recipes are prepared in pairs.
  • Courses are for adults only.
  • For one-day courses, lunch is not included and a one-hour break is allowed for.
  • To preserve the warm and intimate atmosphere of our classes, which accommodate a maximum of 10 participants, online bookings are limited to 4 guests per reservation. For any request exceeding 4 participants, a private session will be required. Our team will be delighted to assist you by phone or email.
  • Any delay exceeding 15 minutes after the scheduled start time will result in the participant not being admitted, in order to ensure the smooth running of the class and to respect the experience of all attendees. In such cases, no rescheduling, refund, or credit shall be provided.
