When Ritz Paris porcelain turns into jewelry
La Fabrique Nomade: a sustainable and mutually supportive cause
For the first time, the Ritz Paris is giving a second life to its legendary porcelain dinner service, created by César Ritz in 1898 and still in use today. Wishing to engage with a good cause while making the most of its heritage resources, the hotel has chosen to entrust its crockery fragments to La Fabrique Nomade. Founded in 2016, this non-profit association champions the social and professional integration of migrant and refugee artisans in France. Six artisans from diverse backgrounds have created this first collection of 40 exclusive pieces, including necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings.
Savoir-faire meets craftsmanship
This unique capsule collection beautifully illustrates the commitment of the Ritz Paris to sustainable fashion. By choosing upcycling, the hotel is taking an approach that combines our own rich heritage with contemporary craftsmanship. In 2022 the Ritz Paris became the first French hotel to receive GSTC certification, so this collaboration, combining as it does sustainability and craftsmanship, aligns perfectly with that award. All profits will be donated to La Fabrique Nomade.
Celebrating our heritage
With its delicate blue or red motifs, the Haviland porcelain tableware at the Ritz Paris has long embodied the timeless elegance of the Louis XVI style. By transforming these fragments into jewelry, the hotel enables a unique fusion of two great arts: the table, and fashion. Each piece expresses the soul of our exceptional heritage, while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. Carefully crafted by master artisans, these unique pieces celebrate the passing down of skills through the generations.
Each piece tells a story of rebirth and resilience, perfectly symbolizing our approach of making craftsmanship a virtuous vector of integration that contributes to a circular economy and an inclusive, sustainable society.
